Single-journey fares for QR tickets and tokens on the DMRC network, in force since 25 August 2025 (the date comes from national press reports; DMRC’s fare page carries none). The distance is the shortest route as DMRC computes it. National holidays are 26 January, 15 August and 2 October. “Time allowed” is the maximum time between entry and exit. Each station page gives the fare from that station to Rajiv Chowk.

Smart card, NCMC and tourist cards

Smart card. It costs ₹150 (₹50 refundable deposit, ₹100 of travel) and takes 10% off every journey, plus 10% more if you enter off-peak (before 08:00, 12:00–17:00, after 21:00, Monday to Saturday except national holidays). It can be topped up to ₹3,000 and stays valid ten years from purchase or last recharge.

NCMC. National Common Mobility Cards issued by banks work on the whole DMRC network and the Airport Express, with a 10% discount at peak times and 20% off-peak. The first time, a Customer Care Centre has to activate the card for the metro.

Tourist card. Unlimited travel for one day for ₹200 or three days for ₹500, including a ₹50 refundable deposit.

QR tickets and tokens. QR tickets are sold on DMRC’s Delhi Metro Sarthi app, on WhatsApp and in other apps, and on paper at ticket counters; contactless tokens are tapped at entry and dropped in the gate at exit. Both pay the full slab fare.

Where to buy each of them, the recharge minimums, the refund rules and what happens if you lose a card are on the Metro card page.

Airport Express and Rapid Metro

The Airport Express Line has its own fares, from ₹11 to ₹75 for a single trip (New Delhi to Airport T-3 is ₹64), and its own 10, 30 and 45-trip cards. Rapid Metro Gurugram charges a flat ₹20; a journey that continues onto the DMRC network pays the DMRC slab on top.

Penalties

  • Travelling without a valid ticket: excess charge ₹50 plus the maximum fare of the system (Sec. 69)
  • Entering the coach reserved for women: ₹250 (Sec. 64(1))
  • Entering and leaving at the same station (smart card): ₹10
