Naraina Vihar opened on 14 March 2018 on the Pink Line, a Phase 3 station serving Naraina Vihar and Naraina Village. The original Phase 3 project report had planned two elevated stations on the Ring Road, Naraina 1 and Naraina 2; DMRC later chose a single underground station directly below the colony. Residents opposed the change and took it to the High Court of Delhi, which dismissed their petition as an executive decision it should not interfere with.

The station lies 18 metres below ground and was the first where the station box and the tunnel had to be built in the same space, as there was not enough land for shafts to lower the tunnel boring machines. Dragging the machines over 210 metres without damaging the platform took 30 days. Its neighbours on the Pink Line ring are Delhi Cantt. and Mayapuri; the spur to Shiv Vihar is a separate service from Maujpur-Babarpur.

Departure times from this station on a weekday, as DMRC’s journey planner gives them (checked on Tuesday 20 October 2026; the planner takes no date). DMRC does not publish separate Saturday, Sunday or holiday times for each station, and on special days it announces changes in advance. A last train after midnight belongs to the previous evening’s service. “Not published” means DMRC’s own answer was inconsistent (arrival before departure), so we leave it out.
