Chirag Delhi Metro Station
Magenta Line · South Delhi, Delhi
About Chirag Delhi metro station
Opened on 29 May 2018 as part of Phase III, Chirag Delhi is an underground stop on the Magenta Line between Greater Kailash and Panchsheel Park. DMRC places it beneath the Chirag Delhi intersection of the Outer Ring Road and describes it as a one-stop destination for many South Delhi neighbourhoods, commercial and tourist areas and educational institutions.
The station shares its name with the ancient Chirag Delhi village, which DMRC glosses as “The Illuminated Lamp of Delhi”; Gates 1 and 5 are labelled for the village, and Gate 5 also for the Jahapanah City Forest. DMRC also names Masjid Moth, Panchsheel Enclave, Select City Walk, Malviya Nagar market and Shaheed Bhagat Singh College among the places close to it. Trains here belong to the Magenta Line section between Krishna Park Extension and Botanical Garden.

Departure times from this station on a weekday, as DMRC’s journey planner gives them (checked on Tuesday 20 October 2026; the planner takes no date). DMRC does not publish separate Saturday, Sunday or holiday times for each station, and on special days it announces changes in advance. A last train after midnight belongs to the previous evening’s service. “Not published” means DMRC’s own answer was inconsistent (arrival before departure), so we leave it out.

No. The Magenta Line runs as two disconnected sections: Krishna Park Extension – Botanical Garden, which serves Chirag Delhi, and Deepali Chowk – Majlis Park. The two are not linked, so there is no through running between them.
