Munirka opened on 29 May 2018 with the Magenta Line, one of the underground stations on the section between R.K. Puram and Vasant Vihar. DMRC describes it as having four entry and exit points connecting CPWD Colony, Vivekanand Marg, the Jain Mandir, Munirka Market, Capital Court, the DDA Market, the RTO office and police station of Vasant Vihar, the DTC depot and the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management.

DMRC also notes that the station is near the JNU and IIT campuses and Swami Malai Mandir, and that the area is known for its furniture market. Its trains run on the Krishna Park Extension–Botanical Garden section of the Magenta Line; the Deepali Chowk–Majlis Park section is a separate service with no through running.

DMRC does not publish separate Saturday, Sunday or holiday times for each station, and on special days it announces changes in advance. A last train after midnight belongs to the previous evening’s service. “Not published” means DMRC’s own answer was inconsistent (arrival before departure), so we leave it out.
