The Magenta Line reached Vasant Vihar on 29 May 2018. The station is underground, with a single island platform between the tracks: one side for Botanical Garden, the other for trains towards Janakpuri West and Krishna Park Extension. The neighbours are Munirka and Shankar Vihar.

DMRC’s own description is unusually specific. It says the four entries connect to Mizoram House, Jharkhand House, the Togo Embassy and gurudwara, CBI Colony, Priya Cinema and the JP Vasant Continental hotel, and that the station is also near the JNU campus and the DDA Sports Complex at Vasant Kunj. Its gate list adds the Embassy of El Salvador at Gate 4 and Munirka Marg at Gate 2. The Magenta Line currently runs as two separate sections, and this station lies on the Krishna Park Extension – Botanical Garden part.

DMRC does not publish separate Saturday, Sunday or holiday times for each station, and on special days it announces changes in advance. A last train after midnight belongs to the previous evening’s service. “Not published” means DMRC’s own answer was inconsistent (arrival before departure), so we leave it out.
