Trains first stopped here on 3 October 2010, the same day the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony was staged at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, and the station was opened in time for that event. JLN is simply the stadium’s initials, and the stadium is still the reason for both the name and the site.

The station is underground, with an island platform, on the Violet Line between Jangpura and Khan Market. DMRC’s own note on it says little beyond its type, so the gates carry most of the information: five of them, labelled by DMRC for Dayal Singh College, Lodhi Road and the NBCC offices, the CGO Complex, the Delhi Transco office and, at Gate 3, the stadium’s own Gate no. 2.

Departure times from this station on a weekday, as DMRC’s journey planner gives them (checked on Tuesday 20 October 2026; the planner takes no date). DMRC does not publish separate Saturday, Sunday or holiday times for each station, and on special days it announces changes in advance. A last train after midnight belongs to the previous evening’s service. “Not published” means DMRC’s own answer was inconsistent (arrival before departure), so we leave it out.
