Mayur Vihar Extension opened on 12 November 2009 on the Blue Line, as an elevated station with an island platform. It lies between Mayur Vihar-I, a little over two minutes away, and New Ashok Nagar, two minutes away.

DMRC says little about the station beyond calling it one of the network’s elevated stations and giving phone numbers for the station officer. Its two gates are named after the roads they open onto: Gate No. 1 for the service lane to Sahkarita Marg and Gate No. 2 for Club Avenue Road.
