Opened on 25 December 2017 on the Magenta Line, Kalindi Kunj is described by DMRC as the third station of the corridor counting from Botanical Garden, sitting on the Delhi–Uttar Pradesh border on the bank of the Yamuna, near the Kalindi Kunj Border toll booth. The station is elevated, with side platforms, and has a single gate.

DMRC names Atlantic Water Park, Shaheen Bagh Market, the Okhla Barrage and the 9 no. Yamuna ji Ghat as the well-known places nearby, with Madanpur Khadar, Jaitpur and Mithapur as the residential areas around it. The gap to Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh is a five-minute run, more than twice the 2.4 minutes the other way to Okhla Bird Sanctuary.
