Opened on 31 December 2018 as part of Phase III, this underground Pink Line station began life as Hazrat Nizamuddin and was renamed Sarai Kale Khan – Nizamuddin in 2019. Both halves of the name describe what it serves: the Sarai Kale Khan bus terminal and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station, on the Inner Ring Road.

DMRC labels its gates accordingly: Gate 1 for the Sarai Kale Khan bus stand, and Gates 2 and 3 for Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station. On the ring, its neighbours are Ashram and Mayur Vihar-I; trains heading towards Shiv Vihar end their ring run at Maujpur-Babarpur, where the spur is a separate service.
