It was earlier known as Rohini West.

Inaugurated on 31 March 2004, this elevated Red Line station was formerly known as Rohini West, and DMRC still uses that name and its code, RHW, in its own note about the station. The present name, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, is shared with the hospital to which Gate 2 is signed. It lies between Rithala and Rohini, in Sector 6 and Sector 10 of Rohini.

DMRC’s note concentrates on shopping: the Unity One Mall and the City Centre Mall, with multilevel parking, at Gate 3. A skywalk between the station building and Unity One Mall lets travellers walk straight into the mall without going out through the exit gates, and back again.
