Govind Puri was among the stations of the first Violet Line section, which opened on 3 October 2010, the same day as the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. It is elevated, with side platforms, and lies between Kalkaji Mandir and Harkesh Nagar Okhla.

DMRC’s gate descriptions do most of the explaining here. Gate 2 is listed for Govindpuri, Alaknanda, CR Park, Kalkaji Mandir and Desh Bandhu College, while Gate 1 is listed for B.D. Chandiwala Hospital, the G.B. Pant Institute of Technology, Okhla Phases I to III, IIIT Delhi and the NSIC exhibition ground. The station therefore serves housing on one side and colleges and industrial estates on the other.

DMRC does not publish separate Saturday, Sunday or holiday times for each station, and on special days it announces changes in advance. A last train after midnight belongs to the previous evening’s service. “Not published” means DMRC’s own answer was inconsistent (arrival before departure), so we leave it out.
