Janpath opened on 26 June 2014, an underground station of the Phase III Violet Line on the short stretch between Central Secretariat and Mandi House. That stretch was planned to create a line parallel to the Yellow Line corridor and to give quicker access to the Blue Line by linking Mandi House with Central Secretariat.

Trains reach Central Secretariat in about a minute and a half and Mandi House in just over three minutes. DMRC lists Janpath among its underground stations with no further description, but its four gates show what it is used for: they are signed for Janpath Market, the Cottage Emporium and the Western Court and Eastern Court office buildings.

DMRC does not publish separate Saturday, Sunday or holiday times for each station, and on special days it announces changes in advance. A last train after midnight belongs to the previous evening’s service. “Not published” means DMRC’s own answer was inconsistent (arrival before departure), so we leave it out.
