After waiting for its safety clearance, Mohan Estate finally opened on 14 January 2011 as part of the Sarita Vihar – Badarpur section of what is now the Violet Line. The elevated station has side platforms and sits between Sarita Vihar and Tughlakabad Station, about two and three minutes away respectively.

It takes its name from Mohan Estate, an industrial and financial area that the station sits close to. DMRC’s own description goes no further than calling it one of the network’s elevated stations. The two gates are signed for Haldiram’s (Gate No. 1) and the DMRC staff quarters (Gate No. 2).
