Anand Vihar ISBT opened on 6 January 2010 on the Vaishali branch of the Blue Line and served as its terminus until 13 July 2011, when trains began running beyond it to Kaushambi and Vaishali. The station is also on the Pink Line, which makes it an interchange; trains on the ring here run between I.P. Extension and Karkarduma.

The station is elevated and has four platforms: two for the Blue Line towards Vaishali and Dwarka Sector 21, and two for the Pink Line, one towards Majlis Park and Yamuna Vihar and the other towards Shiv Vihar. Its gates are described by what they face: Gate 2 stands in front of the inter-state bus terminus, Gate 3 sits between the bus terminus and the railway station, and the Pink Line’s Gate 1 points towards the ISBT. DMRC’s electric feeder route MC-719 starts and ends here, running a loop through Anand Vihar and Karkarduma.
