Tis Hazari Metro Station
Red Line · Old Delhi, Delhi
About Tis Hazari metro station
Tis Hazari belongs to the very first stretch of the Delhi Metro. It was one of the first six stations on the network: the 8.2 km stretch from Shahdara to Tis Hazari on the Red Line was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 24 December 2002, and DMRC began commercial operations the following day, 25 December 2002.
The station is elevated, with side platforms, and today sits between Kashmere Gate and Pulbangash, in the Old Delhi district. It stands across the road from the Tis Hazari Courts Complex, the principal district court of Delhi, and is linked to gate number 2 of the complex by a footbridge with a ramp. Its three gates point towards the courts and St. Stephen’s Hospital, Sadar Bazar and the Lt. Governor Secretariat.

Departure times from this station on a weekday, as DMRC’s journey planner gives them (checked on Tuesday 20 October 2026; the planner takes no date). DMRC does not publish separate Saturday, Sunday or holiday times for each station, and on special days it announces changes in advance. A last train after midnight belongs to the previous evening’s service. “Not published” means DMRC’s own answer was inconsistent (arrival before departure), so we leave it out.
