It was earlier known as Badarpur.

Badarpur Border opened on 14 January 2011, when the Violet Line was extended from Sarita Vihar to Badarpur. For more than four years it was the end of the line, and it was crowded as a result. That changed on 6 September 2015, when a 14 km stretch on to Escorts Mujesar in Faridabad opened. The station was known simply as Badarpur until it was renamed in December 2014.

It is an elevated station close to the inter-state border between Badarpur in Delhi and Faridabad in Haryana, between Sarai and Tughlakabad Station. The two gates reflect that position: Gate 1 faces the Faridabad toll plaza, and Gate 2 serves IIHM Badarpur and Mohan Cooperative.
